Hoses should undergo visual inspection before each use and hydrostatic testing, with thorough inspections every six months to check for wear such as abrasion, corrosion, wire or fitting damage, and other signs of deterioration. Hydrostatic testing must be done annually, following a passed visual inspection, by pressurizing for 10 minutes to check for leaks and verifying electrical continuity before and after. Electrical continuity should also be tested every six months. After use and before testing or storage, hoses must be cleaned using passive flushing with appropriate fluids, avoiding pigging, ensuring drainage if seawater is used, and grounding during cleaning. Steam cleaning is acceptable within temperature limits, and compressed air must not exceed the hose’s maximum working pressure. Repairs should only be performed by trained personnel, and Peraflex should be contacted for further assistance.
